Here comes Mama June Shannon explaining why she spent her daughter Alana Thompson's money.
The "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" alum, who now stars in "Mama June: Family Crisis," opened up about what happened to the cash — and why she spent it — in a new interview with Entertainment Tonight.
"That time was, like, honestly a dark place in my life," Shannon told ET correspondent Rachel Smith, referring to the $30,000 her 18-year-old daughter accused her of stealing five years ago.
Shannon admitted that all of the funds from Thompson's appearances on "Dancing with the Stars: Juniors" and "The Masked Singer" were never fully deposited into Thompson's Coogan account, a bank account for child performers that makes funds inaccessible until they turn 18.

June told Smith that parents of other child actors and lawyers encouraged her to put a portion of the funds from Thompson's job in the account and use the rest to "live off" of, adding, "It wasn't just mainly spent on me."
But the former "Honey Boo Boo" pushed back. In the interview, Thompson said she thought "100% of that money was going into that account."
"I worked really hard for what I have and the money that I have, so I was assuming or under the assumption she put 100 percent of the money in there, but that's not how that worked," Thompson said, adding that she's "trying to get over it and trying to push through it."
The family feud is chronicled in the current season of "Mama June: Family Crisis," with Shannon telling Thompson to "take me to court" and saying on camera that she "legally put 20 percent" into the account, according to ET.
Five years ago, Shannon faced felonies for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia charges.
Now, she is five years sober, telling the entertainment outlet, "It kinda sucks for me in a way because everybody is waiting for me to jump off the edge" from stress after her eldest daughter Anna "Chickadee" Cardwell's December 2023 death following a battle with cancer.
