OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — A man shot and wounded an Oklahoma City police officer on Tuesday and then barricaded himself inside a home on the city’s northwest side.
The wounded officer was transported to a hospital, but the extent of his injuries weren’t immediately known, said Capt. Valerie Littlejohn.
Police were responding to a report of a man with a gun when the officer was shot, Littlejohn said.
Police surrounded the home, closed nearby streets and urged people to avoid the area.
Littlejohn said she didn’t immediately have any information about the suspect.
