Bring the lights up, bust the doors down—because some Jeopardy! fans aren’t too thrilled with this line of phrasing.
In fact, the internet is all shaken up over a $1,000 clue about Zendaya's body of work.
"Before somehow making tennis steamy in 2024," host Ken Jennings said during the June 25 episode of the long-running game show, "this single named star guested on Disney Channel's Good Luck Charlie."
Though contestant Staci Garner correctly identified Zendaya—who starred in Challengers earlier this year—to be the answer, many viewers took issue with how the question was worded.
Their argument? The 27-year-old only appeared on one episode of the sitcom, but starred in three full seasons of the Disney Channel hit Shake It Up. (She later played the titular character on the network’s show series K.C. Undercover.)
"@Jeopardy just said Zendaya was on Good Luck Charlie??" one person wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter. "The one crossover episode?"
Meanwhile, another user accused the game show of "falsely" conflating Zendaya's involvement in Good Luck Charlie.
"Watching #jeopardy," a third fan wrote on X, "when was zendaya on good luck charlie?!?"
Indeed, Zendaya stopped by Good Luck Charlie for a single episode back in 2011—and it tied into her flagship Disney role. Instead, she guest-starred—as the question noted—in the crossover episode "Charlie Shakes It Up," in which her Shake It Up character Rocky Blue teaches the titular Charlie (played by Mia Talerico) how to dance.
Still, some Jeopardy! fans saw through the clue's tricky wording.
"ZENDAYA CHALLENGERS HIGHEST LEVEL JEOPARDY QUESTION," one viewer wrote on X. "LETS GOOOOO."
To revisit Zendaya's career from Disney Channel sweetheart to euphoric superstar, keep reading.
